Repairs & Upgrades
Having Problems With Your PC?
With our backgrounds in Public Sector and Private Industry IT support, we have plenty of combined experience to troubleshoot and fix your computer problems. We don't charge a callout fee and will always try to fix your problem on site. However, it is not possible to carry every PC part and piece of software known to man with us, so it is quite likely that we will have to take your box away to fix at our workshops.
When we do this, the integrity of your data is of paramount importance and we will always endeavour to back it up before we do any work on your PC that may involve the removal of HDD's (Hard Disc Drives). Once we have a diagnosis, we will inform you of likely costs so you can decide whether or not to continue with the work.
"I want it to run faster!"
Unfortunately, with older PC's, you are limited as to what you can do to alleviate this problem, bar upgrading the Memory (often referred to as "RAM") or where possible, upgrading\over clocking the processor (often referred to as the "CPU"). However, we have seen plenty of machines clogged up with lots of unnecessary programs which could always benefit from a "spring clean" and an extra stick of RAM and we will be happy to do this for you. We can also add other peripherals such as Graphics cards, Sound cards, DVD writers etc, where required.
"Do I need to upgrade my PC?"
A common enough question. We will always advise an upgrade if your PC is running an Operating System at anything less than Microsoft Windows 2000. Unfortunately, Windows 9x PC's were never built to confront the menaces of the Internet and were fraught with crashes from poorly written software. It's also worth remembering that upgrading the Operating System from a Windows 9x box will also mean buying a modern PC.
